Santa Monica, CA: The iconic Pacific Dining Car steakhouse in Santa Monica California closes suddenly after nearly 30 years in business as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to ensure that the contents can be repurposed for use in other venues and for the public to have the opportunity to bring home a piece of a Santa Monica dining institution, the equipment and other contents located at 2700 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90403 are being auctioned ONLINE through June 22nd at www.RestaurantEquipment.Bid (AUCTION SITE LINKED HERE).
RestaurantEquipment.Bid is a marketplace for used and overstocked restaurant equipment. The starting bid for all items is $1 with no reserves. Among the items being auctioned are kitchen equipment, chairs, tables, décor, and small wares. Also included are unique items such as decorative lampshades, horse and jockey paintings, a Will Rogers vaudeville photo, and dog paintings.
Neal Sherman, President of RestaurantEquipment.Bid, explains, “Pacific Dining Car is an iconic institution in Santa Monica. Those who have enjoyed this unique destination can now own a piece of Santa Monica culinary history. In conducting this auction, our aim is to ensure that these items don’t end up in a landfill – instead, the auction allows for a sustainable repurposing that not only makes economic sense but makes a positive impact on the environment.”
RestaurantEquipment.Bid was created as part of TAGeX Brands to provide the world with the most vibrant and efficient marketplace of surplus, overstocked, and used restaurant and food service equipment. Nearly three decades ago, the company began by relieving the headache of moving food service equipment into and out of restaurants and supermarkets. The business then expanded to provide equipment and services nationwide for all aspects of the food service industry.
Pacific Dining Car is a fourth-generation family-run business known as the only 24-Hour fine dining establishment in Los Angeles. The restaurant began in 1921 in a parked railway train car.
