Pie Five Pizza has closed its Willow Lawn location.

The Texas-based fast casual pizza chain opened its first Richmond location in 2014 in Innsbrook and the Willow Lawn restaurant in 2016.

The Innsbrook Pie Five closed in June 2018 and the Willow Lawn one at the end of business Sunday, April 14.

The franchisee shared the news in a newsletter to subscribers:

“We’ve loved being your favorite pizza place in Richmond – Willow Lawn, VA but sadly due to unforeseen circumstances we had to close our location. Our time was very memorable and we hold not only the community, but all of our customers very near and dear to our hearts.

Pie Five confirmed the closing.

“It is unfortunate but the franchise owner of that location made this choice. We do not have current plans on reopening in the area but hope to be back in your area again in the future,” a spokesperson wrote in an email to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Pie Five is the most recent pizza chain to have closures in the Richmond market.

In February, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria closed its only Richmond location and Extreme Pizza and Ledo Pizza each closed one location, leaving them with one location each in the market.
