LOUISVILLE, KY – Market Street is taking two hits to its restaurant stock this month.

Wild Rita’s, the Mexican concept from the Wild Eggs chain at 445 E. Market St., announced on Facebook that it will serve its last dinner on Saturday.

“Our restaurant has really enjoyed serving the Louisville area for the last 5 years,” the post said. “We are sad to say we will be serving our final dinner on May 18th. Hope to see all our favorite faces before our final service.”

Meanwhile, things are looking bleak for another restaurant about five blocks west.

301 Bistro at 301 W. Market St. abruptly closed last week, and its website was showing error messages on Wednesday.

Courier Journal freelance food writer Nancy Miller wrote in 2014 that 301 Bistro “includes Kentucky favorites on his menu such as Benedictine and country ham, and as many Kentucky Proud products as possible to encourage Louisvillians to celebrate the state’s culinary heritage and to give out-of-towners a real taste of Louisville and the state. The local connection doesn’t stop with food. Bistro 301 also features a selection of local beers.”

301 Bistro changed owners right around the time the Kentucky International Convention Center closed for a renovation and expansion in 2016, according to a story from Louisville Business First.

That site was formerly home to Deke’s Marketplace Grill.
