Waylon's Feed & Firewater in St. Matthews announced Saturday that it has closed

 

A St. Matthews restaurant and bourbon bar announced Saturday that it is closing.

 

Waylon’s Feed and Firewater, 3939 Shelbyville Road, posted on its Facebook page Saturday that it closed for good.

 

“With great sadness, we have decided to close the business effective today at 2pm,” the Facebook post read. “We’ve loved having you as our guest as it was a hard decision.”

 

The post did not list any reasons for the closure but apologized “for any inconvenience.”

The restaurant did not return a request for comment.

 

“Most of our great staff have been placed with other jobs,” the post from Waylon’s Feed and Firewater said. “We appreciate you all.”

 

The southern-style restaurant opened in summer 2017 at the site of the former BoomBozz Craft Pizza and Taphouse.
