After Wegmans closed its Natick store, one of the company’s largest and more unique locations, the company is auctioning off some of its items.
RestaurantEquipment.Bid is hosting an online auction that ends Tuesday for many items, such as a pizza oven, chairs, pressure washer, meat slicer, vacuum and more. Some of the items were still being offered for $1 Tuesday morning, while others were over $1,000.
However, the bidding company warned that buyers are responsible for removing the items themselves.
“Nobody on site can assist you in loading your items. Bring enough help to load your won items,” it states.
The Natick store opened in 2018 and was located at 1245 Worcester St. It was Wegmans’ first multi-level store within a major mall and is 34,000 square feet, according to the company.
Wegmans has five other stores in the Greater-Boston area with about 2,700 employees. It said it does not have plans to close any other stores.
“We love our Natick community and customers, and we’re eager to pursue new store locations in the area for the future,” said Brien MacKendrick, human resources director, Wegmans New England division. “In the meantime, we hope to continue to serve our Natick customers through our e-commerce offerings and our other area stores.”
